About "A Salute to Service" Campaign

For those who have served and those preparing to serve

The University of Cincinnati proudly acknowledges the service of the men and women in the Armed Forces and is committed to providing a full range of quality academic, career, counseling and student services to veterans and ROTC cadets as they pursue their dreams and higher education goals.

Our Veterans’ Task Force established an admissions and retention plan to support veterans who want to advance their education using Post 9-11 GI Bill benefits. One of our goals is to increase the enrollment of veteran and military students by 5% each year over the next five years. To continue attracting and graduating the best, we invite the community to join us in providing scholarship and programmatic support for our Veteran and ROTC students.  Veteran's Day Ceremony 2009

Campaign Priorities:

Open a Veteran and Military Student Center (VMSC) – staffed by a director, an admissions recruiter, and an academic advisor to provide a cohesive set of services for the recruitment, retention, advising and counseling of students.

Offer partial tuition scholarships as well as room and board supplements to enhance the recruitment and retention of our students.

Secure state-of-the-art training equipment to increase and sharpen ROTC cadets’ skill and knowledge.

Points of Pride:

G.I. Jobs listed UC among 15% of the nation’s higher educational institutions that are military friendly.

UC is leading the state in providing opportunities that cross undergraduate, graduate and professional school programs. We participate in the Yellow Ribbon Project to provide additional scholarship support to our veteran students.

We hired staff members at the Uptown and Clermont branches to assist our veteran students in understanding their benefits and the transition process between active duty and their studies.
